The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), NHTSA, Transport Canada, and Diono® RECOMMEND that children be rear-facing until two years of age or they reach the maximum rear-facing height or weight of their car seat. This car seat can remain rear-facing up to 50 lb or 44 in tall.
Rear-facing is the safest position for your child. Even if your provincial, territorial, or state regulations allow you to move to a forward-facing seat, your child should keep using rear-facing seats as long as possible.
Read here for more information on when to switch to forward-facing.
